Meet Our Work Team
Dr Sandy Rosete
Dr Sandy Rosete is the new owner of Quito Veterinary Hospital as of November 1, 2013 and anxiously looking forward to continuing the legacy of competent and compassionate care that has served the San Jose area for nearly four decades. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1996 and has practiced medicine in New Mexico, Hawaii, and Nevada, recently moving to San Jose from Las Vegas where she had spent the past 11 years as an associate veterinarian and medical director. Dr Rosete is married to a long-time resident of San Jose and has considered the Bay Area to be her second home. The Rosetes are the proud parents of two furry four-leg “kids,” who are very active and keep them plenty busy in their off hours. During her limited free time, Dr Rosete enjoys the local beaches and hiking around the hills of Santa Teresa, where she currently resides.
Dr. Ami Hensley
Dr. Ami Hensley received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from UC Davis in 1998 and obtained a Master of Science from Purdue University in 2000 where she researched reproductive physiology, in vitro fertilization, and embryo culture in the bovine and porcine species. Dr. Hensley worked for the Environmental Protection Agency before obtaining her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2005. She then completed a post-graduate internship at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in San Leandro, California and has been working as a veterinarian in the Bay Area for the past 10 years. She and her husband have three children and a cat named Pixel. In her spare time she loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family.
Hospital Administrator Jose has been a resident of San Jose since a very young child. He considers the Bay Area the best of the best. Jose has a degree in human Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix but has been involved in the animal community for many years. He enjoys the company of his pets, 2 dogs and a cat. Jose is also an avid sports fan and enthusiastically supports all of the Bay Area teams.
Kara has been a licensed veterinary technician at Quito Veterinary Hospital since May 2012. She received her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College in 2009. Her love and passion for animals is inimitable. With a big heart and kind face Kara puts forth tremendous effort to help those in need.
Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant
Kim Medal has been a trememdous asset to our hospital. Kim has been a veterinary assistant with Quito since 2011 and was recently promoted to Office Manager. Animals have always been a big part of Kim's life, starting at age 7 when her mom's encouragement and support lead her into actively participating in the local 4-H. From horses to hamsters, Kim has cared for them all. She currently has 4 dogs, a bunny and a pot-bellied pig. Kim's love for all animals has grown over the years. She made the decision as a young girl to dedicate her life to making a positive impact in the lives of all the furry friends she meets.
